This is an example of a daily riding programme at Bel-Air Equestrian Centre. It may vary depending on the package you have chosen. We can also create a special package for you.
Arrive and make yourself at home in the manor house hotel. Come and have a look around the yard, 20 metres from the hotel. If time permits we can organise a ride for you this afternoon. Otherwise riding will begin tomorrow.
A Typical Day
Breakfast is from 8 am depending on your riding start time.
We begin with a schooling/assessment session so you can familiarise yourself with our horses and what we do. This enables us to structure a plan for you while you are here. It also allows us to ensure you are matched with an appropriate horse.
Join our daily, scheduled ride which can be a variety of forest rides, cross-country jumping or arena work. You get a chance to meet our local riders, who will give you a warm welcome and share the true Irish experience.
Have a light lunch back in the hotel, sit in front of the fire and relive your morning’s adventure.
More riding. This can be more cross-country, a lesson or a relaxing hack.
If you prefer, you can go sightseeing in the local area instead.
Dinner is served.
Then spend a relaxing evening by the fire or experience the social life in Ashford village or nearby Wicklow town.
Each riding day will follow a similar programme. How many hours you ride each day will depend on your chosen package. We aim to have most of our riding instruction on our extensive cross country course in our undulating parkland. We have approximately 150 fences varying in height and type, which makes it suitable for all jumping levels of the leisure rider.
Riding, hotel stay and meals as per your package. Use of skull caps and body protectors if you don’t have your own.
